What is new in Sen
A short note each month on what changed in Sen, newest first.
October 2026: simpler menus, fuller exports
- The left menu is now in five groups: Start, Plan the work, Money and risk, People and tracking, and Report and share. The Help panel uses the same groups.
- Project settings and the Risk tab keep the everyday controls in view. Bands, colours, allocation methods, labels, teams and lists sit in an Advanced section you can open.
- The Word, PDF, Excel and Markdown plans now include resources by team, cash flow by month and your logs. The board deck has a clearer schedule, budget and stakeholder slide, and says when it shows only some of the risks.
- The one-page summary fits one page, with a second row of figures and your milestones.
- Export file names and titles no longer end in "my copy".
- The task file for Jira now carries dependencies as issue links. Asana imports cannot create dependencies from a file, so Sen says so.
- A milestone changed back to a task keeps its duration, and a manual contingency set to zero says that the reserve is shared equally.
- Sen terms of use and privacy policy now have their own pages, linked from the Account menu.
- This page is now a short monthly note on what changed.
Earlier in October 2026 (v39 to v44)
- Word export is now a real Word file (.docx) that opens and edits properly.
- The Excel workbook now uses live formulas, so risk scores, contingency and schedule and cost indexes recalculate when you change a number.
- The task file for MS Project keeps the outline levels, with a summary row for each part of the work.
- Sen now warns you when tasks wait on each other in a circle, and shows which ones.
- Better use with the keyboard and on a phone: a skip link, focus kept inside pop-ups, larger tap targets and a tidier header.
- Print preview editing now has a formatting bar: bold, italic, underline, fonts, sizes, text and highlight colours, alignment, lists, headings, and inserting paragraphs, sections, tables, lines, page breaks, a logo and a company line, plus an accent colour for the document.
- Print preview now shows the schedule bars, risk heat map, cash-flow curve and stakeholder grid as they look on screen.
v38 · October 2026
- One accountable team per task in the RACI, and a narrower matrix with team names running down the page.
- Weighted power and weighted interest are shown as numbers and marked as the scores used on the grid.
- Renaming a sentiment label now updates the register.
- Change the colours of the risk heat map.
- The Monitoring Dashboard and Results Chain say that figures are edited in the Data tab.
- Print and PDF open a preview on fixed A4 or Letter paper, the same page on screen and on paper, and you can edit the text on that page before you print.
- Ask AI also accepts another service that follows the OpenAI format.
v37 · October 2026
- Search the guides from inside Sen, from the Help panel or the command bar. It runs in your browser.
- Ask AI (optional): paste your own Claude or OpenAI key, choose what to share, read the exact text first, and agree each time. Sen has no AI of its own and never sees your key.
- Owner is now a drop-down of your RACI teams. Choosing one makes that team Responsible in the RACI, and setting R in the RACI updates the owner.
- A short note explains what happened when you change a lag.
- Critical-path dependency arrows are now easy to see against the bars.
- Help answers are easier to read on the dark theme.
v35 · October 2026
- Dependency types (start to start, finish to finish, start to finish) and a lag on every link.
- Durations in days or weeks.
- Milestones and gates on the schedule.
- Constraints: must start on, start no earlier than, finish no later than.
- Resource loading by team and week, with overloads in red, and labour cost from rates.
- Cash flow and an S-curve from a monthly cost baseline.
- Logs for issues, actions, decisions, change requests, communications and lessons learned.
- A one-page status report with RAG and what changed.
- What-if scenarios and a side-by-side comparison.
- Import from MS Project XML, CSV or Excel.
- Print preview on every tab, a share-a-copy link, a first-run tour and a command bar.
v34
- Project settings, real dates and holidays, currency, a configurable risk scale, a health check, baselines, undo and a change log.
